Starving for Affection was intense but very readable. It details a young woman's horrific battle with a number of addictions; our society does not make it easy to overcome such problems. My heart went out to the protagonist of this first-person account . . .This was the caption for the photo I took when I read the book. I would like to add a comment or two. I am neither a size two nor grossly obese. As a retired high school teacher, however, I was made aware of the students whose lives were severely affected by their various disorders and society's attitudes towards both them and their addictive behaviors. I believe the information in this book would be useful and informative to anyone who suffers from addictive disorders, or deals with said at a professional level, and highly recommend it.
