Years ago, a 40-something single friend posted a recommendation for this book, and I knew I had to read it. I mean, come on, if a SINGLE woman in her 40s is recommending a book about "sex," you know it's got to be unique. I was not disappointed!!This book shifted our verbiage and emphasis, as parents, in the raising of our children even while they were young. We talked a lot about how we can and should (and shouldn't!) use our bodies to glorify God. This included everything from sticking our tongue out at others ("Is that a good way to praise the Lord with your body?") to later discussions around modesty and intimacy. As a woman in America who was left disappointed by the "purity culture," I love how this book puts the emphasis on GOD'S faithfulness, not ours! It's now become a resource for our teenage daughters as they navigate their place in the Kingdom of God as women. It is teaching them to focus more on God's faithfulness (and our response to that ever-present faithfulness) rather than on cultural norms, both within and outside of the church.I really cannot recommend the book enough! We have given away dozens of copies of it over the years, and have engaged in incredible conversations of grace and healing as others have been impacted by its profound message.
