This is one of the few, the proud, the EXTREME CHEWER’S CLUB!!!I have a 68lbs chocolate lab. He’s 22 months old. As soon as we got him, we ordered an assortment of toys. We soon figured out that he can chew through just about anything….. except THIS TOY! I even ordered the Super Chewer subscription boxes - not much survived. However, this one DID! It still looks great too (well, when he doesn’t drag it through the mud, literally! Lol). I’d recommend it to anyone who has a dog that can chew!!I've purchased 3 of these cactus toys for my pitbull now, he absolutely loves them but they are definitely not "chew proof". He has chunks pulled off within the hour, and the toy is reduced to chunks in less than a week. To be marketed for "aggressive chewers" seems like a bit of a stretch for these toys.My dog was able to chew it within 10 minutes. When a puppy starts teething he looks for those things which are soothing to his new teeth and gums. This is one item that fits the bill for sure.We have found that our puppy goes from item to item and finds that this is one of his favorites. We highly recommend!Tore apart after about a week of short play but my pup still loved itIt didn't even last an hour. My dog ripped it apart and made a mess in doing so. Not chew proof at all.My 8 month old lab puppy had this destroyed within minutes!!! Would not recommendMy dog chewed through the toy within 30 minutes. We have one of these I bought ages ago from another seller, and that one is still intact. Very different quantity obviously.Dog Chew Toys, Long Lasting Natural Rubber Dog Toys for Aggressive Chewers, Durable Tough Cactus Stick Pet Toys for Training and Cleaning Teeth, Interactive Dog Puppy Toys for Medium Small DogsThis toy is marketed as being a long lasting dog chew, which you can never have enough of when you have a teething puppy. I can confidently say that it certainly is not long lasting. Our pup managed to destroy the toy in less that 45 minutes, with the first 'arm' of the cactus becoming detached after 10 minutes or so.While she certainly is a strong chewer, she is nowhere near an extreme one and most toys will last us a couple of days, if not weeks, at a minimum. The toy itself is rubberized, and a softer texture than you would expect of say nylabone or kong toys. Which could be more useful for either elderly or juvenile dogs who tend to have more fragile teeth to begin with. It has a pleasant smell which some other reviewers have described as 'cookies and cream', to me it was closer to oatmeal, but it was nice all the same.Do yourself a favour though, for this price you can easily get a couple of nylabone toys that will last you a whole lot longer. When this arrived it looked smaller than the pictures. It's 15cm or so long and a couple of cm thick. It also smells like cookies or cookies and cream. I think we all stood around sniffing it for 5 minutes before the dog got it. It's not hollow more like a rubber stick with a bit of texture on it. It does have a bit of give but i can easily see iy being tough enough to resist dog chewing. We chucked it back and forth around the room and the dog was happy to pick it up and retrieve it. She's known to chew things to pieces and didn't take her long to start working her teeth on it. After a good 10 minutes of chewing there were no signs of it coming apart. This should last her a good while.
