A really lovely wooden board game set, Peter rabbit themed. Comes well presented in a cardboard box showing you what you're getting. Unfortunately ours came with no other packaging and the delivery label was just stuck to the box. Inside you get a wooden play board, drawstring bag, 16 peg dolls and a wooden die. The peg dolls have a plain wooden body with the coloured ball top securely glued on. You have 4 of each colour to play with. The board is simple in design with the game play laid out and 4 of the characters painted on; Peter rabbit, cotton tail, Benjamin bunny and jemima puddle duck. I was expecting the peg dolls to have an image or something similar painted on for each character, not just a plain colour, no real issue though. Everything has been finished well, no rough edges or areas at all, completely smooth to touch. Easy and simple to play trying to get around the board. There has been a few times where we've had to keep picking up and putting the pegs back where they get accidentally knocked over by small arms reaching over to move their pieces. A great way to learn about waiting and taking turns, encouraging problem solving and engaging with each other, aswell as just enjoying play. Looks and feels of excellent quality. Built to withstand hands on play. Would ever make a lovely gift.Peter rabbit ludo setAn adorable ludo set, for little ones from 3 upwards. We played this with the 8, 6 and 4 year old. The 4 year old did get a little bored but the older two love it now they've had a good few goes, the teenager had a little play too.The board is a cute design, roughly 21cm x 21cm x 0.5cm. There are 4 different coloured character areas for your counters, you have Peter Rabbit, Cotton Tail, Benjamin Bunny and Jemima Puddle-duck. The counters are roughly 4.5cm long. All of the pieces are wooden and seem well made. You get a cute little drawstring bag, to keep the counters and dice in.Playing the game is easy if you remember, otherwise there are no instructions. I think it went along the lines of you need to roll a 6 to leave your area but to make this quicker and easier, we did it if you rolled a 6 or a 2. Because of the size of the board, it's not great if you've got all of your characters out at once, as the kids got a bit confused at first but picked it up more as we went on. We never played with more than two out of the area a time, which made it easier. We had good fun and laughed a lot playing this, so I would say it's a good game for certain ages. It seems well made and it is a gorgeous design. For that I would recommend it. Not bad for the price.I love wooden toys and this one is no exception. It arrives in an attractive cardboard box, perfectly suitable for gifting, and inside the box in a cotton drawstring bag are the 16 wooden pieces as well as a wooden playing board; this is all wrapped in a printed (with logo) brown paper so it is rather like opening a present -- lovely packaging and all recyclable. The game is a classic one -- Ludo -- that is themed around Beatrix Potter's World of Peter Rabbit, and I assume that they think you know how to play this as instructions are *not* included. I have to confess to having never played Ludo and so I would have appreciated some basic instructions and as something that is likely to be gifted then instructions would have been a nice inclusion. The wooden pieces and board are all nice and smooth and well painted (or transfer printed) and varnished, and look like they will last a long time even with rough handling -- the overall quality of the game is very good and the current price of £18.99 (at the time of the Amazon Vine review) is fairly reasonable.I am pleased with this product and I am happy to recommend at the current price point. Finally, it is worth noting this is a UK company and the item was designed in the UK; it was however made in China. This Ludo game, based on Beatrice Potter’s characters, is carefully fashioned from wood and beautifully presented in a sturdy cardboard box with a cotton drawstring bag for storing the pieces and dice.Unfortunately, the game comes without instructions, which is a mystifying oversight. Yes, they’re easy enough to find online, but how hard would it have been to include them in the box?The pieces are nicely finished, with a wide base and round, pastel-colored heads. However, they are not as stable as they look, and because the board is relatively small, they take up a lot of space if all are being played at once. Another issue is that the blue and green colors are almost impossible to tell apart. The recommended age is 3+, but our 3 year-old had neither the understanding nor attention span to play. For this reason, I’d say 4+ is more realistic. All in all, a lovely idea, but not particularly well executed. Thanks for reading my review. I hope you found it helpful. As Peter Rabbit fans, we loved this game set.It arrives beautifully packaged in true Peter Rabbit style and the matching inner game is of the highest quality with Peter Rabbit themed Ludo board and wooden counters representing Peter Rabbit, Benjamin Bunny, Cotton-tail and Jemima Puddleduck, plus a dice. All are made from FSC certified sustainable wood together with a printed linen bag for storing the pieces. The only item missing was instructions. I've played Ludo as a child but faced with the set as an adult, I couldn't remember how to play - is a 6 needed to start? Does a player lose if landing on a spot already occupied? I had to search online for instructions to refresh my memory. The colours used for Peter Rabbit and Cottontail are very similar so I would have preferred a clearer colour differentiation eg blue and lilac to avoid counters becoming confused, particularly when the board is a little crowded by counters, but this observation does not detract from this very appealing and well-presented family game.
