Henry Schlesinger's book HONEY TRAPPED was a welcome addition to the study of sex in warfare. It details the use of spies and sex as a carpenter may use a hammer. If it works, do it. If it doesn't, move on. It is a practical look without dishy invective as to morals or ethics. All's fair in love and war so it is said and this tome, while plain and matter-of-fact concerning the overall topic, lays bare (sorry) the sadness of older men being hopeful Romeo's to attractive women seeking, money, influence or even secrets of war. The book closes with the events of Anna Chapman. While Ms. Chapman was known and watched from the moment she arrived in the US, her exploits seem to have mattered little to international affairs. Yet, as the book coldly points out, it is still too early to know the outcome of actions taken in 2010. My conclusion is the same as before I opened the book: live by a code and don't deviate from it. Prosperity comes to the focused, risk-taking or not.
