Although the rope part of this toy was destroyed quickly, the rest of the toy has become a favorite. It was easy to pull the chewed up rope out of the bird, and to this day my pittie hasn't pulled off the wings or tail. She likes to bite on its face. She brings it to me often for indoor fetch and a little tugging. This bird worked great because it has a narrow head, wings, a piece of rope and feet that my dogs can grab onto and play tug with each other. They are aggressive chewers and this is still in one piece.I bought this six months ago for my sweet boy. He’s a big boy and this duck (it looks like a duck) has certainly been through it as it’s one of his favorite toys. It has a squeaker and some of the plastic crackle in the wings in addition to the rope and beak which make a good handle for tug of war. Today the rope came off. At $10, I say it’s totally worth it. I will be buying another one for his birthday! Shhh, it’s a surprise!!This little bird was a huge hit with my dog (40 lb, 3 year old Aussie Shepard mix)! In fact he loved it so much, he ate its head off within the first 15 minutes, and had it's stuffed belly oozing within the next 15 (we inevitably had to eviscerate the filling from it, lest my gnawy pup fill his belly with it). As you can see from what's left in the pic, it's actually really well made, sturdy materials and no little beady eyes to get ripped out and gobbled up. It just had no chance against my guy. I would definitely recommend it for smaller dogs, or for aggressive chewers/gnawers looking for a fun quickie. So, it looked good and felt sturdy, and was accurately represented by the photos and description-- but it took my dog less than hour to rip it into multiple pieces, strew the stuffing from one end of the house to the other, chew the squeaker in half, and swallow the crinkle paper. He had a wonderful time doing it-- but if you have a dog truly dedicated to ripping and tearing, this will not be a very long-lived entertainment. This is a hardy toy that has lasted way longer than the other ones I ordered. The only reason for 4 stars is my dogs don’t like it as much as the other toys. Maybe the squeaker isn’t loud enough. This was a gift for a friend's 3year old boxer. Based on the number of hours I saw him playing with it, it was a huge success. I liked it because it is durable, plush and thick. He also started to play tug with his Boston Terrior brother and they had so much fun. And it looked brand new after playing for hours. This bird is advertised as being for aggressive chewers. Not so.The material is durable but the stitching is awful. The stitching broke at the neck and the stuffing was coming out after two days. Why oh why produce a toy with tough material and then sew it together with cheap thread?
