This is a great toy! My pug loves it! Hours of fun!…they just don’t last. 2yr old lab mix loves them. But we are lucky to get a week out of the motor.I have a 6month old Maltipoo and he love this toy, it’s his favorite go to toy, daily. Many times a day, actually, he can play with it alone or with people. It’s his go to fetch toy, as well. He’s had it about 3 months and we just put the second cover on last night. He does burn through batteries in this toy pretty fast though, because he loves it so much and it gets a lot of action. I wouldn’t recommend it for a aggressive chewer or larger dog. Perfect for a smaller dog or a non aggressive chewer! Buddy was about 4 lbs when he got this toy, he is 8.2lbs now.My Cocker Spaniel Maverick absolutely loves this toy!!! We have the ball in the blue cover. He is very hard on his toys but he has had this one for over a month. We did have to sew one of the braids back on, where he has toted it around and slung it. This is the second set we have ordered because the first set he had, the motor finally gave up.((Not the toy's fault)) Maverick will take this toy to bed with him. I just wish this one was rechargeable.This is the second time I have bought this toy and it has NO SCREWs to hold it together.I've bought 3 of these, so I have a tip- Leave it on all the time, just take it up when you don't want them playing with it. The first one I bought eventually needed thrown away because the velco stopped working, from opening it and closing it to turn it on and off. Just leave it on. Use rechargable batteries. Other than that.. My dog loves them. The first one he had, he ran through the house shaking it for days. 2 years later and he still plays with it almost daily.I always say that my dog should be a toy tester because she destroys toys very quickly. She has terrier in her so she violently shakes toys and often sends them flying across the room. She has sent this toy flying across the room, hitting walls and the entertainment center so many times that I can't count. The toy still works perfectly!!!!I did have to sew its ear back on one time but given what she does with it, that's not a big deal.She loves the toy and still loves it months later.Another company makes a version of this toy, and I've tried both. The other one came with a single plush cover, which tore apart in half an hour. This one is better. It has two plush covers, and the first one lasted three months, which is plenty given how roughly my dog plays with it.My main concern is that the interior plastic ball pops open regularly, and then I have to open the whole thing up and close it again. It would be nice if the two sides of the plastic ball were secured together better.
