WOW!This very candid, vulnerable, funny and amusing story had me feeling so many simultaneous sentiments-in a great way! I truly related to Roxanne, enjoying the highs of selfish instant gratification we are all in some way addicted to, but then having all too visceral sense that a truth hangover was coming on very soon. I could not stop reading. It made me laugh at Roxanne when she comically messed up again, then feel the sting in my heart as she navigated her sadness and desperation, attempting to dig herself out of yet another hole. Crazy, funny moments, then some heart wrenching realizations and then back to more crazy mistakes again, all felt like I was watching a juicy night time soap opera where we the viewers get to anxiously live the torn main character’s messy stories and intermittent eye opening moments! I was all in!Maybe a movie soon?Sadly, these types of scenarios Roxanne lived through seem like normal dating fun to many people in today’s society, and these kinds reckless behaviors are even thoroughly admired on social media, music and pop culture in general. No one seems to connect how much harm we do to ourselves, how much growth can come from making the effort to heal from bad habits and addiction, to learn from our experiences and aim to be more successful at genuine self-love. So many of us seem to think we can find an easier route to happiness by cheating through our life and relationship journeys, then take forever to realize it all-after we’ve cause ourselves and others so much unnecessary pain and stress. Finally, someone comes along like Brianne, sharing it all, allowing for us to see what really happens after all the “fun and games,” the real mental torture and heartache within, the self-deprecating, manic habits that most people don’t see, the “behind the scenes.”Seriously, a great read and such very valuable lessons to take with us.Thank you Brianne for your novel, your podcast, and the honest community you are promoting with these projects!BRAVO!!
