First, I have an older cat almost 4 years old; and a 9-month-old kitten. When I put it on the floor, the older cat checked it out, but that kitten played with it for 30 minutes. Of course, I supervised because the kitten did try to eat off the mouse fur. After about three minutes, I gave that mouse a haircut and then cut off the tail. After the kitten grew tired, then the older cat played with it for about 5 minutes. It is not the sturdiest item, as the kitten pulled it around the floor and under the table, too bad it didn’t come with a suction cup for the floor. Also, I am sure they will get that ball out of there; because with every toy with a ball, they have managed to get out the ball. So, I just put it back. Well worth the money. However, if your kitten is like mine, I would supervise them at first to see if they try to eat the fur of the mouse. You know the old saying about the kids liking the boxes more than the gifts? That's true for cats too. But this toy won that battle. I bought several toys, including a few hi-tech ones, but this one is their instant favorite. Well done!Cat loves it, it is not the sturdiest one, my cat moves it along the floor, but has tons of fun. Downside, cat nails can get tangeled in the mouse holder.Needs supervisionI like this toy. My cat took to it right away. It comes apart though. The mouse just pops right off. The base does not seem to sturdy either. We just adopted a new kitten, she’s about a year old. We were told she likes the little track ball toys so I got her this one and she adores it. My only *small* complaint is I wish it was a little heavier or weighted down, it does flip over very easily. But it flips right back over too so it’s not a huge hassle.Really a great toy. But my kittys chewed fur off of mouse... LolI'm very pleased with this cat toy! The spring and mouse are both heavy duty which is good since they take a beating from my kitten! The holes are big enough for him to get to the ball and send it around. It's great to have a toy where he can entertain himself for a bit! It's worth the price and I think it will last a while! Our 4 month old Siamese loves this toy! But, she is going to outgrow it pretty quickly. It's pretty small compared to others I've seen, but maybe it's not entirely a bad thing that she's able to grab it and kind of throw it around (she certainly gets a kick out of doing that!).If you have an adult cat, I would not suggest buying this.
